Aaron Bean had an unspectacular outing in the Pennsylvania 500 A1 Series race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA.

“We just couldn’t get our car to handle today,” said Bean after finishing 19th at the 2.5-mile oval. “I had about one run at the very beginning where I felt like I could move around on the track a little bit. But other than that, we were either way too loose or too tight. To come out of here with a 19th is disappointing, but really isn’t all that bad, all things considered.”

Bean’s crew threw everything at the car to fix the handling issue – but nothing, including wedge, track bar, and air pressure adjustments seemed to remedy the problem. While the car’s handling seemed to even out after a pit stop on lap 182, Bean ran out of time and finished a disappointing 19th…

“Pocono bit us in the ass,” said Bean. “Both races here this year, we were dialed in at the beginning of the weekend, but we just lost something, setup-wise, in the race.”

Bean dropped from third to fourth in A1 Series point-standings, but has a 351-point cushion between himself and 13th-place Markus Ager – the first driver on the outside looking in of the 12-driver Chase for the Championship – with only five races remaining before the Chase field is set.

The NASRAC A-1 Cup series Cup Series heads next to the Centurion Boats at The Glen at Watkins Glen International Raceway where Bean is looking to duplicate his Top-10 finish earlier this year on the only other road course on the A1 Series schedule at Infineon Raceway…

Race 13 is done for A1, A2, A3 and welcome to A4!!! We will have race 14 at Pocono is tomorrow night – it may have some new code.

I did make some solid tweaks tonight to my new version of the race script. All new signups will go in Group A5 – so tell your friends to stop on over we need to fill that up with 50 new drivers. If we can I estimate we will have 7 groups of 50 drivers so 350 drivers. Out of those groups we should be able to establish a nice AA Series with a few hundred of you guys. So maybe 2 groups.

Also, I know all the guys who signed up aren’t racing and that’s okay. We will still let the system drive for them but again their driver rating should be lower than yours if you put any effort into qualifying.

An updated schedule is available at http://nasrac.com/schedule.php – This is very similar to your Garage schedule. We will be going with 6 races a week (Mon-Sat). Sunday you get to watch NASCAR!!!

Group A4 or whoever is the newest group will have a 6 race hold and start their races on the nearest Monday. Their group will also have a chance to work on that new weeks races. So right now, new drivers can work on Race 13+

Made a small race code change that was causing lap down cars to keep loosing more and more group on the restarts. I changed the code to bunch them up as a temporary fix but will revisit a better solution soon.

Made small visual adjustments to a few pages to give you a quick click back to the garage in case the left nav was to far for you to move your mouse.

Plan for race 8 tomorrow evening somewhere around 11pm EST. Sorry for the folks who got caught without warning tonight.

Okay I was a little busy tonight. I thought it would be best to just catch group A2 back up to A1. I need it for testing anyhow to see if this will cause problems. Some of you A1 guys are thinking what happened to race 5 – well I did it last night but didn’t want to spam you guys. However, I’m thinking, unless I get a bunch of folks upset, I may just send an update after the races are done.

A3 guys – I am working on a strategy to get you guys running asap. It may include ghost drivers until we reach a nice mass of oh I don’t know 100 new drivers a day Until then I need to try a couple of things, but soon, very soon, i will get you in the game. Keep qualifying and I will amke sure I get you results going back to the first race.

As for letting folks do new races, not yet – I need to hold off until I get A3 settled in on a strategy.
