New Face Appears in Victory Lane as Old Faces Retain Chase Spots
The Pennsylvania 500 marked the 21st race for NASRAC’s A-1 division as the top class looked to tame the three corner beast in rural PA. While Johnny Williams was the dominant driver of the day, leading just over half of the race, Kashvinder Mann took down his first NASRAC checkered after coming from fifth to first on lap 197. Mann, the lone Singaporean in the field, sits 32nd in the standings, but the 73 Chevrolet has certainly picked up the pace as of late, leaving Kashvinder with a three-race average finish of 5.33. Williams’ Toyota came second in the event, allowing the Toyota driver to move up two spots in the standings. The Los Angeles driver is now 190 points behind Vyn Horn, who placed fourth in the event despite starting from midpack, and looks to be a contender for the series title with three wins, nine top fives, and twelve top tens. Fourteenth place man Dylan Choquette continued his strong run to the Chase by picking up another top five from third. Choquette’s Dodge is close to a win, and with only 150 points to make up, the driver of the 148 could make the cut after race 26 in Richmond. Rounding out the top five was Brad Daniels, a two-time winner on the NASRAC tour, who now sits fifteenth in the standings. However, with 254 markers to make up, Daniels will have to continue to collect top five finishes if he wants to run for the championship this season. Tim Reeve, driving a Ford sponsored by TheHotLap.com, placed sixth in the Pocono race, returning to his usual form after a few off runs. No longer in an alliance with Philip Hampton, Reeve can concentrate on his own effort and make a run for the first ever NASRAC title. The bottom of the Chase standings did not shake up, as Gavin Sadler, bcohio2001, and Eric Liberato retained their positions in the final three playoff positions. The trio of drivers all had disappointing days in Pennsylvania, with respective finishes of 37th, 36th, and 22nd. In addition to Dylan Choquette, Markus Ager, who sits in thirteenth, poses a threat to steal one of the prestigious Chase spots, sitting 69 points behind twelfth palce man Liberato. With only five races remaining until the Chase for the NASRAC Cup begins, the A-1 division will make its final right turns of the year in Watkins Glen. The prestigious road course which has played host to a variety of open wheel and sports car formulas prior to stock cars will challenge even the best of NASRAC. With fuel mileage coming into play, the Glen could be a pivotal race as far as the points standings go, as new faces hope to take advantage of better strategies and have their chance in the limelight, while the series leaders look to build momentum as they run for the title.

NASRAC Race Results | Race 21 | Pocono 500

The race results and race standings are updated for Race 21 at Pocono and all active groups are complete.

Code Changes – several BIG changes

Race adjustment code was expanded to have a wider zone – this means a wider zone that improves your cars. Good strategy was discussed. http://nasrac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=129 last post by me…

Race adjustment code was also halved so the amount of improvement or worsening of the car isn’t as amplified. Same forum thread discusses this change.

Pitting for tires with only a few to go is out. I locked it down so you will stay out on those tires and just deal with the bad lap times. It’s better than pitting…

Accident Code modified in half as well – Your risk modifiers now play twice as an important role in an accident. Plus I need to make a couple more tweaks

Accidents don’t delay you as much any more – you get in the pits and back out in about half the time.

Restarts after Yellow were widened a bit so cars aren’t as bunched together.

Most of these changes help keep more folks on the lead lap. Although I must say I tested lots of races tonight and sometimes it just depends when the caution flies. Lead Lap cars at finish tonight – 38,43,43,43,27 – much better than last night. Code is getting tighter…

As always I will continue to make enhancements and improve the game.

Happy Racing

NASRAC – Race 14 Complete – Pocono

The results are in for Race 14 at Pocono. I had to do some more testing tonight but have the race adjustment settings you use in your race strategy working nice and fair. At least to me they look good. A5 you are still on standby until next Monday…

Let me explain the same info can be found in our FAQ. There is one main target adjustment value per race. Tonight the value was 62. Basically if you are within 15 points 47-77 (a 30 point range) your car will improve at that part of the race. Yes it’s that dramatic at lap 50, 100, 150 you become a hair faster – consider it the sun went behind the cloud But this opens up a ton of new ideas for pitting. Like when pitting you can make adjustments to improve your car but slow you down a bit…interesting decisions, I’ll work those out later.

Now if you were outside the range of 47-77 your race rating drops a little. Everything is linear right now except if you nail the setting exactly and you get a bonus for that part of the race. Also I have a cap on how crappy or great it can make the car – if you selected 62-62-62 I’m not moving your rating from 100 to 99 to 98 to 97 where you are 3% faster than everyone else. Rather I have caps and floors…

I will continue to make enhancements and improve the game. I have lots of stuff to work on. I really want to tackle damage next.

Happy Racing…
