NASRAC Season 3 is underway!!!

NASRAC Season 3 Race 1 Complete – The Daytona 500
Here is the Group breakdown
AAA1 – 49 drivers
AA1 – 55 drivers
AA2 – 56 Drivers
A1,2,3,4 – 60 drivers each
A5 and A6 have more but these may be our ghost Groups with nobody really running.
A7 will be the new group for Race 7 – let’s hope we can get another 50 drivers for that group.

So far so good. Email your friends and let them know Season 3 is underway. Post on the forums you belong to whatever, every new driver increases our competition.

A word on donations – if you want to make a Season 3 donation feel free I would appreciate it. $5, $10 whatever you want – either way it’s cheap entertainment. So welcome to Season 3 and best of luck to everyone. Should be a more competitive year so don’t get discouraged, I just finished 24th.

NASRAC Season 2 is Finished – Great results and over 1000 users

Guys thanks for a successful Season 2 – it was a lot of fun. I know nobody else is really doing a NASCAR Simulation Game on the web like this so I thank you for your support. Come over and check out the final stats and don’t forget to look at how close many of the Divisions actually ended up.

Season 3 is just around the corner. I’m not sure if I will start before Thanksgiving or on Dec 1st. I will send an email out.

Philip Hampton Reinstated

NASRAC Official Release…10/27/2008

Philip Hamptom has been reinstated in the NASRAC fraternity. He will continue to drive the Toyota #167 in Group A13 for the remainder of the season. Certain restrictions have been placed on Hampton and everyone is expected to welcome him back. We shouldn’t have to look to the past, but the past is where we learn our lessons. NASRAC Officials will keep a close eye on the situation and have vowed to take immediate action in case of any infringements.

Former Driver Hampton Petitions for Reinstatement

Philip Hampton, former A-1 Series driver, has petitioned Nasrac Director Kevin Minnelli for reinstatement.

Hampton was banned after the Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in season 1 for intentionally cheating. Hampton was proven too have been exceeding 99 risk in qualifying in an effort too win the pole as he was struggling in the races. Hampton went on too maintain his innocence and still has not admitted to any wrongdoing.

“I think its ok to let Philip come back now,” said Proponent of Hampton’s banning and former teammate Tim Reeve, ” With the new rules [Kevin] Minnelli has implemented will prevent future cheating.” Reeve went on too say, “Philip probably could’ve avoided being banned if he had only admitted too what he had done, I pushed hard for Philip’s banning because he wouldn’t admit too what he had done.”

Other Nasrac drivers that the Hampton scandal affected have said that it is up too Kevin [Minnelli] if he wants too allow Hampton return.

Nasrac Group A6 – Championship leader does it again

Championship leader does it again

4xchamp, the current leader in A6 points, wins yet again, making it 4 races. He lead the most laps, with 91, getting him all the points. After the Daytona race, the chase standings was shaken up with the top 5 changing except for havealotoffu, staying 4th in points. 4xchamp has finished in the top 10 in all 18 races so far, making him the most consistent person in A6. The top 5 in points are: 1. 4xchamp 2.Steve 3.noh38 4.havealotoffu 5. David Jundt. The bubble drivers are starting to heat up with only 8 races till the chase. 10 through 14 are seperated by 110 points, with 12th and 13th tied in the points standings. With the drivers pull into Chicagoland tomorrow, 4xchamp tries to make it 2 in a row, after havealotoffu won at New Hampshire the race before. Havealotoffu had this to say after his win.
“I’m just excited for winning my first career race.” I hope I can carry this over into the next few races, and maybe even sweep New Hampshire this year.”
With 4xchamp 1373 points ahead of 12th, he has pretty much guarenteed a spot in the chase, along with the top 5 in points.

X2X Motorsports not living up too expectations (AA1)

Last season in A-1 X2X Motorsports was formed just prior too the inaugural Nasrac Chase for the Cup. Putting all four of their teams in the top 10 in points at the end of Season one the entire team was moved too AA-1. They were expected too continue their winning ways & put all 4 teams in the chase again this year, that likely will not happen.

The current highpoint for X2X is #19 Aaron Bean’s 8th place ranking in points. Bean has been the only X2X driver consistently in the top 10 this season. The 19 team’s performance includes 1 win 6 top 5′s & 7 top 10 finishes this season. Bean should make the chase, unless he has a lot of bad luck. Next up for X2X is owner/driver Johnny William’s #1 team. The #1 team is ranked 20th in points, their season has been improving though. After having a slow start Williams was ranked 33rd after race 5 but has fought his way up too 20th in points & has picked up 1 win 4 top 5s & 4 top 10s.

The other two teams have had Abysmal seasons. Ranked in 34th is Tim Reeve in the #4 Toyota. His one win at the Auto Club Speedway is his only top 10 run of the season. “This season has been really tough for me,” said Reeve, “After last Season I moved to AA-1 thinking I would challenge for a championship, that hasn’t gone so well. The good thing is our cars are getting better and we aren’t crashing every week anymore.” The final X2X car is the #888 of James Johnson ranked 35th. Johnson has struggled mightily picking up 1 top 10 finish & a lot of 25th or worse finishes, which has been very tough for the English driver too accept.

NASRAC Season 2 is now open – NASCAR Race Games at there Best

Good luck guys Season 2 is now open – http://nasrac.com I have finished dividing up all the Divisions and everything looks good. Tell me if you see a problem or any bugs but I will be away on Saturday. Just in case we run into any issues, don’t run your next 7 races, just run a couple in case something bad does come along and make it purge the data. However, I think it should be fine, but just be warned.

AA guys – I broke us done so x2x and 1up could go head to head in AA1 and OOTP and BAT racers you should all be in AA2. Once the first race is complete I can NOT make any changes to your division.

A lot of new stuff has been added but you may not see a lot of it. AA folks I want to think about car numbers so I need a way to have you each pick a number. Not sure how this is going tot work yet, but I think we should be able to manage.

This season I want to work on tweaking the game engine and dealing less with the forum, so if some of you guys can step up that would be great. I’ll be around but need to focus on code.

As for the last couple weeks. I have been going through a lot in my personal career, which is why it has taken me a while to do some updates. Our company has just been bought out ‘merger’ with another company and many of us were unsure of our destiny here in DC. As it turns out many of us are losing our jobs, include myself. I wish I could work full time on NASRAC, but it doesn’t yet pay the bills. Soon after the transition I will be moving on to a new job in the DC / Baltimore Area – still to be determined. I have had a several solid leads and it looks like I have a couple contingent offers on the table. I just wanted you guys to know so next time you wonder why I haven’t updated ‘x’ I may have actually been looking for a job Sometimes, I felt guilty working on NASRAC when I should have been hunting on Monster and DICE.

NASRAC Shootout Results

My big plan was to take the top finishers from each division and run them in one big race. However, that seems like a lot of extra code, this whole shootout has been a lot of work in changing my code around and isn’t keeping me focused.

So what I might just do is this. Go qualify for the Shootout Race 38. Forget about where you placed in Race 37 – that just shows how well you are handling the ‘Fine Tuning’ code for the race setups and might be a predictor of how well you will do in Season 2. What I’m thinking is this…Go Qualify and I will race everyone who qualified in one big group race. So right now it would be 80 guys. This should be fun but some additional coding is necessary so I’m not totally sure about this either.

The one thing I’m a 100% confident on is we will start Season 2 on Monday and we will start it with some display bugs. Your stats may not show Season 1 or may look funny but I will iron this all out soon. Again, another reason I want to focus on Season 2 and not the shootout code.

So go spread the word that Season 2 will start Monday October 6th. I will try to have the races available for you to start on Friday and I may only allow you to see the first 3 races to start until I lock some stuff down.

NASRAC Season 1 Promotions – Nascar Games best online games

Okay excellent Season 1 – this is the list of Promotions to AA!!! I have between 76-95 guys and you had to run more than 13 races. So Group A7, A8, A9 you will stay in Series A for right now. I want to thank everyone for a great first season and look forward to our future. The last few days I have accomplished many upgrades. Some you will notice right away and others are behind the scenes…a lot of work was done this week tweaking the code. The NASRAC Shootout will be held Monday at 11PM. Collins Makes it Two in a Row (A5)

COLLINS MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW by Dan Collins

Date: Sept. 4, 2008
Event: Centurion Boats at The Glen Series: NASRAC A-5 Series
Location: Watkins Glen International
Start/Finish: 1st/1st

Dan Collins came into the Watkins Glen International Raceway looking to gain some valuable experience in his first ever road course attempt. Not only did the 23 year old rookie do that but he came out with his second NASRAC trophy in a row.

“I struggled early in practice with the whole left turn and right turn thing. We unloaded a very well prepared charger and after some coaching from my spotters I was really able to hit my braking and corner points”.

Collins now 2nd in NASRAC A-5 points just one point off the leader ran most of the race in the top 5, just staying patient waiting for the ever so important last pit stop and last laps.

“ it was a huge advantage to start on the pole at a track like this where track posision is more important then almost anything. My pit crew was spot on during all there stops today helping to keep me in the top 10 all race long”.
With around 20 laps to go the veteran crew chief made the decision to bring the slipping Dodge in for some much needed tires fuel and adjustments.

“That final stop my crew earned there keep gaining me spots on pit road allowing me to come up through the field in a short amount of laps to go on and win us our second race with out them we never would have won today”.

Collins has his sites set on next week and the big wide Michigan Speedway looking to continue his learning and ready him self for a championship run next season.
