NASRAC Season 5 CHASE Race 1 is Complete

NASRAC the free online nascar strategy simulation game has just completed Race 27 – CHASE RACE 1 for Season 5.

Note only NASCAR Groups A1-A5 and AA1, AA2 and AAA1 had the drivers rest to the 5000 chase points. Groups A6-A9 only had a few races and not enough to really make it fair for everyone playing the game.

I also know many of you had issues getting to the site today. I am not 100% certain why this is happening but I was able to test the site from two locations today. It may be a DNS issue and if you are having issue send me an email again and I will provide you with an IP address that should do the job. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for the continued support. Soon, a fellow driver who has dedicated several hours of helping me develop an incredible Race Replay flash application will be unveiled. I need to test it inside the NASRAC environment but it looks really good and I think it will add that little extra zing you want when watching the replays. So when we release it, remember it may have a few minor issues and we can always make tweaks to improve it.

NASRAC Season 3 is underway!!!

NASRAC Season 3 Race 1 Complete – The Daytona 500
Here is the Group breakdown
AAA1 – 49 drivers
AA1 – 55 drivers
AA2 – 56 Drivers
A1,2,3,4 – 60 drivers each
A5 and A6 have more but these may be our ghost Groups with nobody really running.
A7 will be the new group for Race 7 – let’s hope we can get another 50 drivers for that group.

So far so good. Email your friends and let them know Season 3 is underway. Post on the forums you belong to whatever, every new driver increases our competition.

A word on donations – if you want to make a Season 3 donation feel free I would appreciate it. $5, $10 whatever you want – either way it’s cheap entertainment. So welcome to Season 3 and best of luck to everyone. Should be a more competitive year so don’t get discouraged, I just finished 24th.

Former Driver Hampton Petitions for Reinstatement

Philip Hampton, former A-1 Series driver, has petitioned Nasrac Director Kevin Minnelli for reinstatement.

Hampton was banned after the Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in season 1 for intentionally cheating. Hampton was proven too have been exceeding 99 risk in qualifying in an effort too win the pole as he was struggling in the races. Hampton went on too maintain his innocence and still has not admitted to any wrongdoing.

“I think its ok to let Philip come back now,” said Proponent of Hampton’s banning and former teammate Tim Reeve, ” With the new rules [Kevin] Minnelli has implemented will prevent future cheating.” Reeve went on too say, “Philip probably could’ve avoided being banned if he had only admitted too what he had done, I pushed hard for Philip’s banning because he wouldn’t admit too what he had done.”

Other Nasrac drivers that the Hampton scandal affected have said that it is up too Kevin [Minnelli] if he wants too allow Hampton return.

Nasrac Group A6 – Championship leader does it again

Championship leader does it again

4xchamp, the current leader in A6 points, wins yet again, making it 4 races. He lead the most laps, with 91, getting him all the points. After the Daytona race, the chase standings was shaken up with the top 5 changing except for havealotoffu, staying 4th in points. 4xchamp has finished in the top 10 in all 18 races so far, making him the most consistent person in A6. The top 5 in points are: 1. 4xchamp 2.Steve 3.noh38 4.havealotoffu 5. David Jundt. The bubble drivers are starting to heat up with only 8 races till the chase. 10 through 14 are seperated by 110 points, with 12th and 13th tied in the points standings. With the drivers pull into Chicagoland tomorrow, 4xchamp tries to make it 2 in a row, after havealotoffu won at New Hampshire the race before. Havealotoffu had this to say after his win.
“I’m just excited for winning my first career race.” I hope I can carry this over into the next few races, and maybe even sweep New Hampshire this year.”
With 4xchamp 1373 points ahead of 12th, he has pretty much guarenteed a spot in the chase, along with the top 5 in points.

Good luck guys Season 2 is now open – http://nasrac.com I have finished dividing up all the Divisions and everything looks good. Tell me if you see a problem or any bugs but I will be away on Saturday. Just in case we run into any issues, don’t run your next 7 races, just run a couple in case something bad does come along and make it purge the data. However, I think it should be fine, but just be warned.

AA guys – I broke us done so x2x and 1up could go head to head in AA1 and OOTP and BAT racers you should all be in AA2. Once the first race is complete I can NOT make any changes to your division.

A lot of new stuff has been added but you may not see a lot of it. AA folks I want to think about car numbers so I need a way to have you each pick a number. Not sure how this is going tot work yet, but I think we should be able to manage.

This season I want to work on tweaking the game engine and dealing less with the forum, so if some of you guys can step up that would be great. I’ll be around but need to focus on code.

As for the last couple weeks. I have been going through a lot in my personal career, which is why it has taken me a while to do some updates. Our company has just been bought out ‘merger’ with another company and many of us were unsure of our destiny here in DC. As it turns out many of us are losing our jobs, include myself. I wish I could work full time on NASRAC, but it doesn’t yet pay the bills. Soon after the transition I will be moving on to a new job in the DC / Baltimore Area – still to be determined. I have had a several solid leads and it looks like I have a couple contingent offers on the table. I just wanted you guys to know so next time you wonder why I haven’t updated ‘x’ I may have actually been looking for a job Sometimes, I felt guilty working on NASRAC when I should have been hunting on Monster and DICE.

New Face Appears in Victory Lane as Old Faces Retain Chase Spots
The Pennsylvania 500 marked the 21st race for NASRAC’s A-1 division as the top class looked to tame the three corner beast in rural PA. While Johnny Williams was the dominant driver of the day, leading just over half of the race, Kashvinder Mann took down his first NASRAC checkered after coming from fifth to first on lap 197. Mann, the lone Singaporean in the field, sits 32nd in the standings, but the 73 Chevrolet has certainly picked up the pace as of late, leaving Kashvinder with a three-race average finish of 5.33. Williams’ Toyota came second in the event, allowing the Toyota driver to move up two spots in the standings. The Los Angeles driver is now 190 points behind Vyn Horn, who placed fourth in the event despite starting from midpack, and looks to be a contender for the series title with three wins, nine top fives, and twelve top tens. Fourteenth place man Dylan Choquette continued his strong run to the Chase by picking up another top five from third. Choquette’s Dodge is close to a win, and with only 150 points to make up, the driver of the 148 could make the cut after race 26 in Richmond. Rounding out the top five was Brad Daniels, a two-time winner on the NASRAC tour, who now sits fifteenth in the standings. However, with 254 markers to make up, Daniels will have to continue to collect top five finishes if he wants to run for the championship this season. Tim Reeve, driving a Ford sponsored by TheHotLap.com, placed sixth in the Pocono race, returning to his usual form after a few off runs. No longer in an alliance with Philip Hampton, Reeve can concentrate on his own effort and make a run for the first ever NASRAC title. The bottom of the Chase standings did not shake up, as Gavin Sadler, bcohio2001, and Eric Liberato retained their positions in the final three playoff positions. The trio of drivers all had disappointing days in Pennsylvania, with respective finishes of 37th, 36th, and 22nd. In addition to Dylan Choquette, Markus Ager, who sits in thirteenth, poses a threat to steal one of the prestigious Chase spots, sitting 69 points behind twelfth palce man Liberato. With only five races remaining until the Chase for the NASRAC Cup begins, the A-1 division will make its final right turns of the year in Watkins Glen. The prestigious road course which has played host to a variety of open wheel and sports car formulas prior to stock cars will challenge even the best of NASRAC. With fuel mileage coming into play, the Glen could be a pivotal race as far as the points standings go, as new faces hope to take advantage of better strategies and have their chance in the limelight, while the series leaders look to build momentum as they run for the title.

NASRAC – Race 16 Complete – Infineon Raceway

NASRAC – Race 16 Complete – Infineon Raceway – Toyota/Save Mart 350

The results are in for Race 16 at Infineon and all active groups are complete. The races where all tight and I kind of like the results. Again, as we advance we will make some more tweaks by track type, like road course, superspeedway. But for Season 1 we are looking good. Not sure when tomorrow nights update will happen but I will get it done as soon as I can.

Notes – I opened up my site to everyone – so now you don’t need to be logged in to view the race results, standings for any of our Groups (A1, A2, A3 and A4). This should open it up to the casual surfer plus it opens it up to our friends at Google who help drive in traffic. So for any friends that didn’t want to give up their email address and sign up now is a good time to look through the site, without it bouncing you to a login screen. BUT when you get to the site – don’t forget to log in. If you aren’t logged in your Garage will look different.

I spruced up the site a little and added a few colors and just changed some of the general look of the game.

Take a look a the standings in A1 – the top 13 had no movement – everyone kept their slot. Very interesting chase shaping up…

As always I will continue to make enhancements and improve the game.

Week 3 underway – Race 13 at Dover Complete

Okay guys – sorry it took longer tonight. I was really working hard on the race adjustment code but just couldn’t get it to where I wanted.

Race 13 is done for A1, A2, A3 and welcome to A4!!! We will have race 14 at Pocono is tomorrow night – it may have some new code.

I did make some solid tweaks tonight to my new version of the race script. All new signups will go in Group A5 – so tell your friends to stop on over we need to fill that up with 50 new drivers. If we can I estimate we will have 7 groups of 50 drivers so 350 drivers. Out of those groups we should be able to establish a nice AA Series with a few hundred of you guys. So maybe 2 groups.

Also, I know all the guys who signed up aren’t racing and that’s okay. We will still let the system drive for them but again their driver rating should be lower than yours if you put any effort into qualifying.

Race 12 Complete | Lowe’s Motor Speedway

Race 12 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway is complete. The week is over. A tie atop the A1 group after 1/3 of the season. Funny thing this 600 mile race was only 500. Seems I made this a 333 lap race. NASRAC – Race 10 Complete – Richmond

Race 10 Complete for A1, A2 and A3 groups. A4 you will start on Monday evening but take a look at the other groups results.

Race 11 at Darlington tomorrow night. Race results and standings are shaping up nice.

I have added the race track venue to your garage page for your reference and made the cell height a little bigger.
