NEWSOME RACING RISING LIKE A PHOENIX

When all the dust settled Tuesday night in Avondale, Arizona, the lights were turned off at the track and everyone went home, typical race in the desert. But one thing was left burning red hot in the Arizona night….Newsome Racing.
It is hard to believe that at the conclusion of the off season and heading into Season 14, Newsome Racing looked to be on rocky ground. When two solid racers left the team and the ensuing controversy that followed, it looked like maybe this would be a lost season for the West Virginia based team.
Sources close to team leader JD Newsome were concerned that the publicity and some negativity that resulted were difficult for JD to take. We all know that he does not seek the limelight, and there were concerns that this could result in a lackluster season for the team. What happened instead was really what people who know JD the best knew would happen. He signed and quickly replaced the losses on the team with quality drivers. Next, he focused the team on setups that will be both consistent and will win races. Fast forward to the end of week 8.
Well, the results are in. 4 team challenge wins to date and just 1 point out of the lead. Yes, 4 wins in this young season, a real testament to his leadership. JD with 2 big wins so far in AAA, newly signed metallicamaniac with 2 wins and top 10 in points in A1, two drivers in the top 10 in each AAA and AA1, with Grrrber leading the points there.
Now the question is can it be sustained through the long and difficult season? Stay tuned. But one thing is for certain, Newsome Racing is here to stay…and win.
