Season of 1sts – Championship on the way?
For Elliott Henderson and Henderson Racing, it is time to get a championship. Elliott has quoted “This may be my best shot yet” and if you remember correctly, every time Elliott Henderson steps in a car in the AA or A divisions, he picks up wins, and not just one. Henderson Racing has come close to championship glory before:
Season 6: Elliott Henderson wins the A9 championship under the Y&F banner.
Season 7: Elliott Henderson makes debut in AAA look easy, with one win (Dover) and a third place finish in points, just 71 out. It would never happen since. Elliott Henderson make an impressive run at the A1 championship, only to come up 9th.
Season 9: Elliott Henderson comes up with a second place finish in points in the A6 division, losing the championship by 163 points.
Season 12: Elliott Henderson comes up short by 36 points in an awesome battle between him and JD Newsome for the A1 championship.
Season 14: Elliott Henderson wins the AA1 Daytona 500, the first for HR, and now finds himself in 11th in points. Could this be the season he was hoping for? After a talk with Elliott, he had to say this: “We have been waiting a long time to get a championship. Although it is very early in the season to tell anything, we have myself and Bobby up there. If we can keep ourselves in the chase, then we certainly have a shot at it. It all depends if we can get these cars right. With the 30th place finishes, well, that isn’t going to help you. We just need to find the consistency, and the championship will be there.”
Elliott Henderson will be retiring from the AA and A divisions at the end of Season 14, so if he is going to get a championship in the lower divisions, he needs to do it now. There have been rumors of him returning in Season 15 to make one more shot, and if you look at the odds, he does good every three seasons. Season 6 (1st), 9 (2nd), 12 (2nd). Who knows, you may be seeing him on the track one last time.

Feel free to leave comments. Do you think this will be the season I get the championship, or will it just be another missed opportunity for HR and myself?
