Reeve vs. Minnelli 2.0
With 4 races to go in the chase, Tim Reeve is leading with Kevin Minnelli in 2nd behind by 76 points. KingLemmie is sitting in 3rd back 127 which is not impossible to make up but would take some strong runs and help from the two front runners. 4th place Yoops is 195 points back and very unlikely to make that up in 4 races.
This is not the first time NASRAC has seen the Reeve vs. Minnelli show. In season 4 the two battled out the championship through the chase for the 2nd ever AAA Championship. The first AAA championship went to Johnny Williams in Season 3 Reeve’s then teammate at X2X. At the end of the season it ended with Reeve winning the championship by 134 points over Kevin, one of if not the largest points gap in AAA to date.
Kevin went on to win the Season 5 and 7 AAA Championships while Reeve was not in either battles with him. Until now the two have not been in a championship battle, since their Season 4 battle Reeve took off season 6, and struggled to remain relevent in the championship scene, but has always won atleast 1 race every season. This season is the first championship battle Tim has been in since season 4. Kevin went through a low point two seasons ago finishing 45th in the standings before finishing 3rd last season and has always been a threat to win races even in his bad seasons. It could be said both are looking for redemption by winning it all this season.
The two are both very experienced and could become a very interesting battle, Reeve’s best tracks are behind him. Kevin has won pretty much everywhere and could easily get top 10s the rest of the season. We can all sit back and watch the next four races and see who can come out on top when all is said and done.
