Season 8 Team Leaders interviews

With the new season almost here I have taken a few moments to sit down with and talk to the different team leaders about what they think about their teams for the upcoming season.

From Yoops Y+F “The prospects for Y & F Motorsports in Season Eight are better than they have ever been. We have a new setup in place that should provide more consistent finishes for our racers. We certainly have the infrastructure with a very active team board. I don’t want to single anybody out and put any pressure on them but I do look for good things to happen in Speed Demon’s first AAA season, with Lilmule also being one to watch. As you know, Y & F always fields a contender. While we wish all other NASRAC teams luck, I believe this will be Y & F’s best season ever.”

“I expect our new team KRT Racing for season 8 will do very well, I the team expect to win many races and come close to winning or maybe even win a championship. I’m probably going a little bit far fetched here but thats what I think we’ll be able to get done this season. The driver I expect to come closest (Not putting down any of the other drivers) is dfromtn. He finished 3rd in a6 in season 7 final points only 56 back with no wins. He came close almost every weekend and had 12 top tens out of 12 starts.” from JD Newsome

Aflac replied “well i got one answer. we are going to win the championship again!”

From Bupp Enterprises leader Phillip Bupp “I feel really confident with the team. We have a healthy mix of the MCM guys who I look forward to getting to know and some of the X2X guys that I know very well. I think we will have a great season. Our goals are to win at least 10 races as a team, at least one drivers championship, and finish in the top 3 or higher in the Team Challenge. If we can do those things (and stay within 100 points of X2X in the Team Challenge) season 8 will be a success.

Tim Reeves comments “Things like with all the offseason changes how will they effect your team?
The only changes made this offseason was a name change to TR Motorsports. We remain affiliated with X2X Motorsports which together I expect big things to come from the team as a whole.
what are your predictions for your team this year?
I expect us to have a good season I think in AAA we should be strong with the couple of cars we have there and much stronger in AA where we have alot more drivers. We’ll be adding A level drivers as the season goes on.
Any drivers you thing on your team will have a big year?
I think all of my drivers have the opportunity to have a big year, I’m interested in what Kyle McCammon can do in AAA after having a breakout year in AA last season. Marley came on strong in the latter part of last season so he should have a good year in AAA too this season. TRM won’t be number one this season but I think we can be right up there with them.

Redline co-leader JG24:Redline Motorsports is very excited for the new season to start. We are hoping for a successful season and to create momentum to use in coming seasons. We have some great drivers racing for us this season and each one is capable of winning races and a championship at the end of the season. I, personally, am very excited and honored to start co-leading Redline Motorsports with Flash and I know we will have success this season and many seasons to come.

From 1Up’s Joffrey Gaetz 1Up Motorsports has grown very strong ever since the downfall of the team in season 3. We’ve come a long way in the past few seasons. We just finished very close to Y&F Motorsports, finishing 3rd in the Team Challenge in season 7, which was a huge improvement from season 6s Team Challenge, where we were out of contention for like the whole season. The team has grown to 21 members strong as of now. We started out season 7 with I think like 10 drivers, maybe less, and have successfully recruited some of the best drivers onto the team.
I do have some worries about inactiveness on the team. There are some members that may be cut after race one of season 8. It all depends on who makes the start and who doesn’t.
SimonDeVerde is the driver I’m looking at the most right now in the AAA-1 series. He just finished second in the chase, which is the best that any 1Up driver has done in the top series. I really think that he’s going to being a very big candidate for the championship in season 8.
bubbastevenj has been a great candidate for the past two seasons to win his series championship. He’s been very close both times, but has yet to get it done. He will though in season 8.
Clayton (darthclay, and darthclay2000) is also a member I will be watching in season 8. He did great all the way up to the chase and then just kind of dropped, but I know that he has what it takes.

Clayton Long is now a co-leader of 1Up Motorsports. He has contributed to the team greatly, and shows great leadership skills. He has substituted for me whenever I couldn’t make a post, and has worked with me all throughout season 7. He truly deserves the position
1Up Motorsports has formed an alliance with Bailey Motorsports and Redline Motorsports. Bobby and I have talked about this move, and have decided that this would benefit both our teams greatly. This move should make both teams stronger in the persuit for series championships, and make them stronger overall. I’m looking forward to working with Bailey and Redline next season.

A few of the teams leaders were to busy with last minute preperations for the upcoming season to respond in time for this article to be published. But their comments will be added at a later time when they have the chance to get back to me. As you can see, everyone is excited and ready to roll out season 8. It will be bumper to bumper action!!!

That was a great article. I really enjoyed hearing about what all the team leaders thought about season 8. It sounds like every team has something big for season 8, which makes me think if season 8 will be just as competitive as any other season lol. I hope to hear from those team leaders who haven’t responded yet. Great job with this article Clayton.
