NASRAC – The Chase for the Cup
The Chase for the Cup “The NASRAC CUP” is going to work very similar to NASCAR racing and other nascar games with one small change – we will run the nascar chase with 12 races instead of 10 like in real nascar. Why, with the 6 races we run per week and only 36 total races – this is a nice even break point of 6. Basically we will run 4 weeks of nasrac races to cover the 24 pre chase races and then the final 2 weeks of the nasrac season will be the chase for the cup, which will cover the final 12 races of the season. 12 drivers will make the chase. So I guess you could say in your best TV commercial spot voice — ’12 MEN, 12 RACES, ONLY 1 CUP, THE NASRAC CUP”
Each Division will have a winner and will be guaranteed a promotion to the next level. For now the levels of NASRAC work little minor league baseball – A, AA and AAA Series. So the winners will definitely advance to the next Series and I probably will take a handful of the top drivers who scored well and who have participated in almost all of the events. The size of the AA Series will be determined later so I can’t make any promises, but it really depends on how big our intro A Series gets in the coming weeks.
If we have 10 A Series groups I think I can probably make 3 or 4 AA Series groups, which would be 150-200 drivers. But this will all start working itself out as NASRAC continues to grow. One cool thing I’m hoping to provide in AA is the car numbers instead of your standard issue database number. Also, if I have enough time to continue to program, you may be able to assign your race points to certain skill sets in AA. I haven’t worked out all the details but like I said before, I want NASRAC to be the best nascar game on the web.
Enjoy the first season of racing. Lot’s of things to tweak but Rome was not built in one day. As always, spread the word in forums, your blog, Yahoo groups – if you like the game get the word out. I can only grow this viral – I don’t have a huge personal budget where I can buy lots of advertising.
Thanks – Minnelli
